Since Loklo Media is based in Lethbridge, I decided to make a video specific for the Lethbridge Area (and anywhere else).
This uses a 3D model of the Viaduct, with a simplified and highly inaccurate representation of the Coulees and Old Man River in the first sequence, then a “practice” motion graphic animation based Loosely off of an Autodesk sequence, then a couple of paid-for jobs – the Architectural Visualization render of an interior (The exterior was also done, but not shown in this video), and a quick little oil/water separation unit as a process animation.
Enjoy, feel free to comment, subscribe, etc. Remember to connect with Loklo Via LinkedIn, Youtube, Facebook.
After several headaches and struggles with Mental Ray for animation, Loklo Media is now equipped with V-Ray (Thanks to cgarchitect.com). V-Ray is definitely quicker and simpler to setup, with better results. Overtime, it will pay for itself, just too bad that we have tp pay for Mental Ray, but essentially leave it behind in the dust. Oh Well!
Onward and upward. I’ll be posting a few depth of field and green screen tutorials and posts in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
I’ve been fortunate enough to work with Technical Training Professionals for over a year, working on various combined cycle and water treatment plant animations. Not all of the animation that they have in their courses were done by Loklo Media, as they’ve been in business longer than I’ve been producing 3D content – but for mroe than a year now, I have been the exclusive 3D producer.
I get photos, sometimes old models, and at best some PDF drawings showing the vessels, valve trees, etc. I get to reconstruct the scene as close as possible for both overview animation(s) of the whole plant, as well as individual vessel training animations for each stage of the processes. Some of the screenshots I posted from the Radeon vs Firepro post were from one of the water treatment processes.
More of TTP’s products can be found on their website:
Well, after deliberating, procrastinating, “designing” and researching for over a year, I’ve finally got the www.loklomedia.com website updated. Much cleaner, simpler, and faster to edit and change. I was trying to get it to be a part of this WordPress system, but after trying to wrap my head around all the .htaccess mods necessary, I gave up. so I installed a CMSMS system (which I generally prefer over Joomla for most things), customized a template, loaded it with content, and set it live.
I would REALLY love some comments and feedback on it. The old site is still available at [removed] for comparison sake – but I might not stay there forever.
My renders for my 8100 frame animation are taking a long time. My main quad core workstation motherboard is in the warranty process, leaving me with 2 instead of 3 quads for rendering. And the one that’s down is a little faster, with more ram. So, yeah, I feel it.
Maybe there’s a hexa-core, or octo-core, or dual hexa-core on the way from Santa? What, I can dream, can’t I?
